Sérgio Mendes rose to fame as the leader of the worldwide breakthrough group Brasil ’66. His extraordinary 50-year career spans more than 35 albums, a 1992 Grammy Award and a brilliant 2006 collaboration with will.i.am from The Black-Eyed Peas.

This special concert features 21 members of Mexico’s Orquesta Filarmónica de Sonora performing music from classic tangos, waltzes and danzónes. Made possible through a unique partnership among CALA Alliance, Arizona Mexico Commission and Instituto Sonorense de Cultura in Hermosillo, Mexico.
